KENYA COMMUNITY EVENT DESIGN AND PLANNING
Client Type: Commercial
Project Location: Reading
Project Description: DKRO was honored to assist in the planning and execution of the 11th Annual Kenyan Family Community event held in Reading. Our involvement encompassed a range of critical tasks that contributed to the event's unprecedented success.
We began by aiding in the overall planning and design, submitting 2D plans to the council, and providing project management on the day of the event. To facilitate further discussions on the event's arrangement, we created detailed 3D visuals, allowing stakeholders to visualize the setup and make informed decisions.
Health and safety were top priorities, with considerations for a one-way system, pedestrian flow, and kitchen safety. We identified prime locations for stalls, enabling investors and companies to bid for the best positions to showcase their work effectively.
Our team delivered drawn-to-scale 2D and 3D designs, providing clarity on what could be achieved within the available space and the resources required. This meticulous planning ensured accurate measurements and optimized layout.
We liaised with the Reading Borough Council to secure necessary approvals and compliance. Additionally, we provided an event map to help attendees locate and identify different areas, including company stalls, food vendors, and the kids' play area, ensuring a seamless experience for all visitors.
Conducting a full survey of the area allowed us to draw the event to scale and provide accurate visuals, which also helped attract new potential investors. Our on-site project management ensured that every aspect of the event was executed correctly, preventing the confusion that had plagued previous years.
This year marked the first time the event hired third-party assistance, and the feedback from the community was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees praised the planning, organization, and smooth flow of the event, with many stating it was the best one yet.
